Artist's Comments

-Wargame Terrain-

Just thought I'd try out a different technique with some new materials. This piece is about 11x11 inches.

Terrain constructed from: Polystyrene, vinyl tile, wall patch and artificial foliage. Painted with acrylics.

How long did that take you? I find that whenever I use any kind of filler on a project it about doubles the time it takes to make the piece.

Looks really good; playable, an attractive addition to a table, and humbly unique.

The filler does take quite a while to dry. The trick is to apply it in thin layers at a time, and I'm pretty sure it would take less time than to wait for a huge glob of it to dry as it takes more time for air to penetrate to the center of it. I applied a layer in the afternoon, worked on some other stuff, applied another layer before I went to bed...woke up and sealed it, painted it and flocked it this afternoon after the glue dried a bit. so, total hands-on hours I'd say around 4-5 hours of nit-picking at it, while from start to finish took just over 24 hours.
